Turkana jewel Cichlid (1-1.5 Inches) Single

The Turkana Jewel Cichlid (1-1.5 inches) is a striking freshwater fish native to the Turkana region of Africa, known for its vivid coloration and bold personality. At this juvenile size, the fish typically exhibits a mix of metallic blue, green, and red tones with a series of iridescent spots scattered across its body, giving it a jewel-like appearance. As the fish matures, these colors become more pronounced.

Turkana Jewel Cichlids are semi-aggressive and territorial, especially during breeding. They require an aquarium setup with plenty of hiding spots such as rocks or driftwood to establish territories. Despite their small size at this stage, they are active swimmers and enjoy exploring their environment. A tank with a sandy substrate and moderate water flow is ideal.

This cichlid is best kept in a species-specific tank or with other robust fish that can handle its temperament. A water temperature of 75-82°F (24-28°C) and a pH level of 6.5-7.5 are recommended for optimal health.
