Guppy Santa Claus | Male & Female

The Santa Claus Guppy Fish is a striking and festive variety of guppy, named for its vibrant red and white coloration, reminiscent of the holiday figure Santa Claus.  

Male:  

Coloration: The male Santa Claus Guppy is known for its bright red body, which may be adorned with white or silver patches, particularly on the tail, resembling Santa's suit. The tail fin often has a rounded or fan shape with vivid red and white patterns.

Size: Males are typically smaller than females, growing to about 1.5 to 2 inches in length.

Fins: Males have more elaborate fins compared to females. The dorsal and caudal (tail) fins are usually more extended and decorated with intricate patterns.

Behavior: Male guppies are more active and are often seen displaying their fins to attract females. They are also known for their persistent courtship behavior.

Female:

Coloration: The female Santa Claus Guppy generally has a more subdued coloration compared to the male. The red color may be less intense, and the white patches are often smaller or less prominent. The body is usually lighter with a silver or greyish tone.

Size: Females are larger than males, growing up to 2.5 inches in length. They have a fuller, more rounded body shape, particularly when carrying eggs.

Fins: The fins of the female are shorter and less ornate compared to the male. The tail fin may still exhibit some red and white coloring but is not as flamboyant.

Behavior: Females are generally more peaceful and less active than males. They are often seen calmly swimming around and are more focused on feeding.
