Grindal Worms Starter Culture | Live Pack

Rs. 60.00 Rs. 80.00

Description

Grindal worms are a type of small white worm that are excellent for feeding medium-sized fish, especially because of their high protein and fat content. If you want to start a live Grindal worm culture, here is how to set it up and maintain it effectively:

Setting Up a Grindal Worm Culture:

  1. Container: Use a shallow plastic container with a lid. Make small ventilation holes in the lid or cover it with a breathable material to allow airflow.
  2. Substrate: Use a substrate like coconut coir, potting soil (without fertilizers), or a mix of damp paper towels. Ensure the substrate is moist but not waterlogged.
  3. Starter Culture: Add the Grindal worm starter culture evenly over the moist substrate.
  4. Moisture: Keep the substrate moist by misting with dechlorinated water as needed. Avoid overwatering to prevent drowning the worms.
  5. Feeding: Feed the worms finely ground fish food, soaked bread, oatmeal, or baby cereal. Place the food on a small piece of plastic or glass so it’s easy to replace without disturbing the substrate.
  6. Temperature: Maintain a temperature between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) for optimal growth.
  7. Harvesting: Use a soft brush or a small spatula to collect worms as they gather on the food surface.
