ADA Rotala SP Shimoga | Pot Live Plant

Rs. 250.00 Rs. 450.00

Description

This decorative stem plant was introduced as Rotala sp. "Shimoga", apparently referring to the district Shimoga in the Indian state Karnataka. It is a qite large, broad leaved form of Rotala rotundifolia. Its luminous green submerged leaves are relatively broad and have an interesting shape, they are bent upwards and twisted to the side, showing the light pink undersides. Under intense lighting, also the upper sides at the shoot tips may show pinkish tones. The shoots grow upright, not horizontal or arching like certain other Rotala rotundifolia forms.

As well as normal Rotala rotundifolia, "Shimoga" is not very demanding and grows fast. We recommend medium to strong lighting, CO2 addition and regular micro- and macronutrient supply for the nicest look of the plant. Occasional trimming promotes bushy, dense growth.

Luminous light green with pinkish tones, particular leaf shape and rather low demands make "Shimoga" a very recommendable stem plant. It looks especially well as a bush in the midground to background, also combined with other Rotalas of different colours and textures.
