Product Description:
Anubias Barteri var. Glabra is a graceful and simple aquatic plant known for its understated elegance and versatile usage in freshwater aquariums. This variant belongs to the Anubias Barteri species, originating from West Africa and classified under the Araceae family. Characterized by its elongated, lance-shaped leaves, Anubias Barteri var. Glabra is an excellent choice for aquascapers who appreciate a minimalist yet sophisticated look in their aquariums. The dark green leaves create a lush and natural appearance, enhancing the overall aesthetics of the aquatic environment.
Lighting: Anubias Barteri var. Glabra thrives in low to medium lighting conditions, making it an ideal choice for aquariums with varying light intensities. It is adaptable and does not require intense illumination.
Substrate: Attach the plant to aquarium decorations or substrate using its rhizome. Unlike many other plants, Anubias Barteri var. Glabra prefers not to be planted directly into the substrate. Use smooth rocks, driftwood, or other decorations for attachment.
CO2 and Nutrients: This Anubias variant has low CO2 requirements and can derive nutrients from the water and substrate. While it is not particularly demanding, occasional supplementation with liquid fertilizers containing essential nutrients is beneficial.
Pruning: Minimal pruning is necessary for Anubias Barteri var. Glabra. Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves, and trim back excessive growth if required. Avoid burying the rhizome in the substrate to prevent rotting.
Placement: Anubias Barteri var. Glabra is versatile and can be used as a midground or background plant, attached to hardscape elements like driftwood or rocks. Ensure that the rhizome is exposed to prevent rot.
Water Parameters: Maintain stable water parameters with a temperature range of 72-82°F (22-28°C) and a slightly acidic to slightly alkaline pH between 6.0-7.5.
Propagation: Propagate Anubias Barteri var. Glabra through rhizome division or by taking cuttings. Ensure that each section has a portion of the rhizome, and attach it to the substrate or decor.
