The "Balloon Hockey Stick" appears to refer to the Thayeria boehlkei, commonly known as the Penguin Tetra or Hockey Stick Tetra, named for its distinct shape. These fish are popular in planted aquarium setups due to their active swimming behavior and unique appearance.

Penguin Tetras thrive in schools of 6 to 8 individuals, and they prefer well-planted tanks with some areas of driftwood or hiding spots. They are generally peaceful but can be fin-nippers, so caution is needed when pairing them with more docile species. These fish also prefer slightly acidic to neutral water with a temperature range of 73-82°F (23-28°C).

Due to their playful and energetic nature, they make a good match for aquariums with larger, similarly active fish. Their diet includes live and frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms, which helps maintain their vibrant coloration.
